Planning Board Approves Phased Construction Plan for 54-Unit Senior Housing Project
EAST BRIDGEWATER — June 1, 2026 — East Bridgewater Planning Board unanimously approves phased construction for a 54-unit senior housing development and recommends a building permit for a Girl Scout camp pool. The board voted without dissent Monday to allow a three-phase build-out of Riddlebrook Acres at 227 Wallace Road, a previously approved senior housing project represented by Brent Cole of Granite Engineering on behalf of the Dumas family trust; a required bond for road completion was added as a condition. In a separate unanimous vote, the board recommended the Town Council approve a building permit for the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains to install a 16-by-32-foot above-ground pool at Camp Kettleford on Camp Road, a class six road, after Planning Director Becky Hebert noted that a pending state law change effective July 1 will eliminate board review of such permits going forward. The Town Council is set to take up the Girl Scouts request on June 10. The board also reelected Hal Newberry as chair, named Chris Bandezian vice chair, and retained Matt Nichols as secretary.
