Norwell Library Awarded State Tech Grant Worth More Than $35,000
NORWELL — The Norwell Public Library announced it has received a technology grant worth more than $35,000 through a state program, funding a new device lending initiative that gives residents access to laptops both inside the building and to take home.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The library's new Device Lending Program makes four Dell Pro 14 laptops available for in-library use and seven Dell Latitude Touch Screen laptops available for take-home checkout. The program is described as a direct result of the state technology grant. Residents interested in borrowing a device can call the library or visit the Main Desk for details.
The grant news arrives against a backdrop of tighter library finances. Due to budgetary cuts, the library has ended its seasonal Sunday hours, with more detail on the FY26 budget impact available on the library's website. The library's June newsletter is now available for residents who want a full picture of current programming.
COMING UP
The deadline to apply for open seats on the Norwell Advisory Board is Sunday, June 29. The town posted the vacancy notice in May; interested residents can find application information on the town website. The library is open Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
