Wareham Launches Silver Alert Program to Help Locate Missing Seniors
The town has unveiled the Wareham Silver Alert Program, a new collaborative initiative to help locate missing seniors, headlining a relatively quiet Monday that also brings a two-day Town Hall closure reminder ahead of the Juneteenth holiday.
TOWN HALL
Wareham has introduced the Silver Alert Program, described as a collaborative community effort to help locate seniors who go missing. The initiative adds a local layer to existing statewide frameworks designed to protect older residents who may wander or become disoriented. Details are available through the town's news feed at wareham.ma.us.
Residents should plan around a two-day closure of Town Hall and all town offices: buildings will be shut Thursday, June 18, and Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. Any time-sensitive business with town departments should be handled before Thursday.
National Grid is actively conducting gas meter replacements in parts of Wareham; the town continues to push updates through its Alert Wareham notification system. The town has also announced ADA improvements to the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell, with additional details posted to the town website. Separately, a commute-planning guide for 2026 FIFA World Cup events in the region is available at wareham.ma.us for residents traveling toward Boston-area venues this summer.
