Norwell Public Library Wins $35,000 State Tech Grant, Launches Laptop Lending

The Norwell Public Library is the week's standout local story, announcing a state technology grant worth more than $35,000 and launching a new device lending program that puts laptops in residents' hands — at the desk or at home.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The library received a technology grant of more than $35,000 through a state program, and the funds are already in use. The new Device Lending Program makes four Dell Pro 14 laptops available for in-library use and seven Dell Latitude touch-screen laptops available for take-home checkout. Residents interested in borrowing a device can stop by the Main Desk or call the library at 781-659-2015.

The library also disclosed that budget cuts have ended its seasonal Sunday hours. The FY26 budget and a full accounting of expected service impacts are posted on the library's website at norwellpubliclibrary.org. The library's June Newsletter is now available online and covers current programs and updates.

TOWN HALL

The town is looking to fill open seats on its Advisory Board, the body that reviews Norwell's budget and carries recommendations to Town Meeting. The application deadline is June 29. Residents interested in serving can find information through the town website at townofnorwell.net.
