Wareham Launches Silver Alert Program to Help Locate Missing Seniors

WAREHAM — The town has launched a Silver Alert Program to help locate missing seniors — a new collaborative public-safety initiative now in effect — while a reminder stands that the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries restriction on beach cleaning runs through June 30.

**TOWN HALL**

Wareham's new Silver Alert Program is described by the town as a collaborative effort aimed at finding missing seniors in the community. No additional partner agencies or activation procedures were detailed in the announcement, but residents can watch the town's News Flash feed at wareham.ma.us for updates as the program gets off the ground.

Separately, the town is moving forward on ADA improvements at the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell, according to a notice on the homepage. Details on scope and timeline were not included in the posted announcement.

With summer beach season underway, the town is reminding residents that the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries has restricted the cleaning of all Wareham beaches from May 1 through June 30. The restriction lifts at the end of this month.

The town has also posted a World Cup commute-planning advisory — relevant for residents traveling through the greater Boston and South Coast region as the 2026 tournament draws visitors to the area.
