Norwell Tier 4 Water Restrictions Continue as Advisory Board Seeks Volunteers
With summer heat building, Norwell residents are reminded that Tier 4 water restrictions — the most stringent level — remain in effect following a declaration issued June 17, and the town is also seeking volunteers to fill open seats on its Advisory Board.
TOWN HALL
Tier 4 water restrictions, declared June 17, are still in force across Norwell. At this level, outdoor water use is severely curtailed; residents should check the town's Water Restriction Program page for the specific rules that apply to their property and accounts.
Separately, the town is accepting applications for Advisory Board vacancies through July 31, 2026. The Advisory Board plays a central role in Norwell's annual budget and finance process, and the town is encouraging interested residents to apply before the deadline.
The town's News Flash also notes that Jacobs Island remains closed to public access, a restriction that has been in place since late April.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Norwell Public Library continues to roll out new services following a technology grant worth more than $35,000 through a state program. The grant funded a new Device Lending Program: four Dell Pro 14 laptops are now available for in-library use, and seven Dell Latitude touch-screen laptops can be checked out for take-home use. Residents can visit the main desk or call the library for details.
Budget cuts have eliminated the library's seasonal Sunday hours. The library remains open Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
