Wareham Library Foundation Comedy Fundraiser Opens Weekend of Community Events
DATELINE — WAREHAM
A full slate of community events fills Wareham's calendar this weekend, headlined by a Wareham Library Foundation Comedy Fundraiser tonight and the Sip & Stroll Harbor Fest tomorrow, giving residents plenty of reasons to get out before the Fourth of July stretch begins.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Wareham Free Library and its supporting organizations are at the center of this weekend's activity. Tonight, Friday, June 26, the Wareham Library Foundation hosts a Comedy Fundraiser at 7 p.m. — a ticketed evening that benefits the foundation's work supporting the library.
Running concurrently through Saturday, June 27, the Friends of the Wareham Free Library are holding their June Book Sale, which opened Thursday and wraps up tomorrow. Shoppers can stop by the library at 59 Marion Road during open hours.
On the waterfront, the Sip & Stroll Harbor Fest is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, as flagged on the town's homepage event notices. Also on Saturday, the 2026 Kayak Poker Run takes to the water, rounding out what shapes up as a busy weekend along the harbor.
COMING UP
Residents looking ahead have several dates worth circling. The Wareham Gatemen host the Chatham Anglers on Sunday, June 28. On Monday, June 29, the Concerts on the Lawn series continues at 7 p.m. with the Catnip Junkies performing at the Wareham Free Library. On Wednesday, July 1, the library presents "The Women of '76" at 6:30 p.m., a historical program that kicks off the Independence Day week. The town's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is set for Saturday, August 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Municipal Maintenance facility at 95 Charge Pond Road; a Wareham or Carver Transfer Station sticker is required for entry.
