Norwell Tier 4 Water Restrictions Remain Active as Summer Peaks

DATELINE: NORWELL

Norwell residents heading into the height of summer are reminded that Tier 4 water restrictions remain in place, the most consequential standing town-hall item as of Thursday — while the public library continues rolling out new technology access programs funded by a state grant worth more than $35,000.

TOWN HALL

Tier 4 water restrictions, posted by the town June 17, remain active. Tier 4 is the most stringent level under Norwell's Water Restriction Program, and residents should check the town's water department guidelines for specific prohibited and permitted uses before running irrigation systems or filling pools this week.

Separately, the Advisory Board has posted a reminder that vacancies remain open, with an application deadline of July 31. Residents interested in serving on the board are encouraged to apply through the town website at townofnorwell.net.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Norwell Public Library has launched a new Device Lending Program, adding four Dell Pro 14 laptops available for in-library use and seven Dell Latitude touchscreen laptops available for take-home checkout. The program was made possible in part by a state technology grant awarded to the library valued at more than $35,000. Residents can stop by the main desk or call the library for borrowing details.

The library also notes that due to budget cuts, seasonal Sunday hours have been eliminated for the coming year. The June newsletter, available on the library's website, covers the full scope of FY26 budget impacts.
