Wareham Launches Silver Alert Program to Help Locate Missing Seniors
WAREHAM — The town has debuted a Silver Alert Program — a collaborative initiative to help locate missing elderly residents — making it the most concrete public-safety development on the town's website as of June 14.
TOWN HALL
Wareham's newly announced Silver Alert Program is a community-wide effort designed to help find missing seniors, according to the town website. The initiative formalizes a local response to a recurring concern in a town with a substantial older population; further enrollment and participation information is available at wareham.ma.us.
Residents doing business at Town Hall should plan ahead: all town offices will be closed Thursday, June 18, and Friday, June 19, in connection with the Juneteenth holiday.
The town has also posted notice of ADA improvements to the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell, though the scope and timeline were not spelled out in the announcement. A separate "Plan Your Commute" advisory tied to World Cup regional traffic is also up on the town site for residents navigating area roads during tournament windows.
Further out, the town's next Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is Saturday, August 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at Municipal Maintenance, 95 Charge Pond Road. A Wareham or Carver Transfer Station sticker is required for drop-off.
